Catherine Hanson is the broker for all of the agents at Catherine Hanson Real Estate, Inc. She is a native Floridian who will be the first to tell you that life in Central Florida is second to none. Catherine’s devoted her life to working in and serving the community, and along the way, has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Orlando area, particularly Lake, Orange and Seminole counties.
After graduating from University of Florida with a degree in agriculture, Catherine returned to her hometown of Geneva in Seminole County. She helped run the family business — a dairy farm — with her husband, and also taught in the Florida public school system for three years.
After relocating the dairy farm to Sorrento in 1975, and eventually selling it in 1983, Catherine chose a different career path and eventually obtained her Real Estate Agent’s license and Broker’s license. After working for small real estate agencies in the area, Catherine went on to open her own office, Catherine Hanson Real Estate, Inc., a family-owned and family-operated corporation.

PUBLIC SERVICE:
Aside from devoting her time in real estate, Catherine also makes sure to give back to the community by actively participating in public service. In fact, she was the first woman elected to serve on the Lake County Commission where she served for 16 years. She has been involved with various local Chambers of Commerce in Central Florida for 25 years and counting.
Notable achievements include:
- Developing volunteer programs
- Championing environmental protection
- Promoting green building initiatives
- Launching the county’s program for Public Land Acquisition
In Her Free Time
Catherine currently resides between Mount Dora and Sanford, in East Lake County, just north of Orlando. She enjoys entertaining, spending time with her family and volunteering in her community. Her three children and six grandchildren have also chosen to make their homes in Central Florida.
